ABOUT DAN

Salutatorian of his Bachelor’s program, (Music Production) and Valedictorian of his Master’s program, (Instructional Design & Technology), there is no question to why he is quickly making a name for himself as a dynamic media composer/multi-instrumentalist in Los Angeles, CA. Simply put, he knows how to get things done.

His compositions are regularly featured on TV’s biggest networks such as, ABC, CBS, CNN, E!, NBC, MSNBC, Discovery Channel, Discovery En Español, Travel Channel, Food Network, Comedy Central, Animal Planet, Netflix, Outdoor Channel, W Network, FYI, Sportsman Channel, CBC News, and Mojo Brands Media.

Additionally, many brands such as, American Eagle, Apple, and Wells Fargo have called upon DBJ for sonic inspiration to advertise their products.

As a child, DBJ grew up around music. His father was a bassist, backup singer and cover band enthusiast and his grandfather Don Brown, (of Don Brown & The Ozark Mountain Trio), was a successful Bluegrass artist, which was the first person inducted into the Missouri Pure Country and Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.

Early on, DBJ showed much musical promise and composed his first songs on the guitar at the age of 10. Fast-forward nearly a decade, (after his own successful cover and tribute band career), he went on to release his first full-length instrumental rock CD titled, “The Awakening” in 2005, followed by an acoustic worship CD titled, “Carry Me Home” in 2006. In 2008, DBJ released an alternative Christian rock CD titled, “Hope is on the way…” and brought in rock vocalist Romero, to sing on the hard rock CD, “I’ll Fight” in 2010. His last CD titled, “My Hero” was release in 2011 and he is currently working on an instrumental rock CD titled, “Freedom” to be release later in 2015.

After testing many musical waters, DBJ has found that writing for Film and Television feels truly like home. His music has been used to set the mood in numerous well-known shows such as Dateline NBC, Restaurant Impossible, Trip Flip, Alaskan Bush People, American Grilled, John Walsh’s The Hunt as well as many others.
