Text Box: Name: Matt Teck Age: 22 Hometown: Zion, IL Band duties: Drums/Percussion/Backup Vocals Matt hails from Zion, IL which can be found an hour north of Chicago. His acceptance into Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville as a Music Education major led him south to Edwardsville, IL. Matt picked up percussion in 5th grade. He got his first drum set at age 12 and has been playing in rock bands since he was 14 years old. Matt has played with such bands as Turpentine Martini, Ambivalence, Cantos, and ESIBUS. In high school, Matt was first chair percussionist his junior and senior year and was also the center snare for the ZBTHS Drumline. At age 14 Matt became a member of the Zion Chamber Orchestra and the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra. And at age 18, Matt became the Principal Percussionist for both orchestras. After graduating high school in 2004, Matt went down to SIUE and has been part of various ensembles such as the SIUE Wind Symphony, SIUE Percussion Ensemble, SIUE Orchestra, and the St. Louis Brass Band. At age 21 Matt became the Principal Percussionist of the SIUE Wind Symphony when the symphony recorded its most recent CD, On Fire. >>> NEXT >>>
